Diversity & Inclusion

Made by many hands

Bels & Pearl exists because of difference — makers with their own materials and ways of working, a team spread across three countries, and customers in homes we will never see. Diversity is not a programme we run; it is the shape of the business.

Craft has never belonged to one kind of person. Neither does our collection, our team or our customer.

Our makers

Artists first, on their own terms

The people behind our collection are artists before they are suppliers. Agah Barış Can Aksakal has spent years deepening his relationship with glass — bringing traditional blowing techniques together with a contemporary design language, and shaping every object himself, by hand, in his own studio.

He is one of many: ceramicists, coppersmiths, sculptors in stone and brass — women and men, families and individual makers. We don't ask them to become alike. Each is presented under their own name, with their own story, on terms that let independent workshops stay independent.

Our team

Three countries, one table

Our people work from the United States, the United Kingdom and Türkiye, in more than one language and more than one time zone. Different backgrounds are how we understand different homes.

We hire and promote on ability and character. Discrimination or harassment of any kind — on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or anything else — has no place in our team, our partnerships or our customer service.

Our customers

Every home is welcome here

We want the experience of shopping with us to feel the same for everyone: honest photography, plain language, and the same level of service whoever you are and wherever you are.

We are working to make this website easier to use with assistive technology. If something gets in your way, tell us — we will fix it, and we will help you complete your order another way in the meantime.

Respect for the maker

Every maker is credited by name on their product pages. Their work is never presented as anonymous.

Equal treatment

The same terms, the same attention and the same courtesy for every customer, partner and colleague.

Open to the world

We ship to homes on several continents and design our service to work across cultures and languages.

Listening

If we have got something wrong — in our words, our images or our service — we want to hear it.
